Four North Zone clubs will contest the reintroduced end-of-season Savannah Football League, under the patronage of All Sport Promotions, beginning today, at Casuals Corner, Queen’s Park Savannah, from 4 pm.

The competition, which has resurfaced after a three-year hiatus will see four clubs, including Gillette Queen’s Park Cricket Club, Fruta Football Factory, Multibionta Police and Blue Waters New Millennium, all of which will vie for the top cash prize of $15,000.

As in pervious years, All Sport will outfit the participating teams. The highly anticipated competition, which began in 2001 was last won by Rangers in 2009, before taking a three year pause due to the organisers’ commitments in the National Super League (NSL), which is also managed by All Sport Promotions. This year’s NSL league competition concluded yesterday.

In a big-four format, the teams will compete in a round-robin, concluding on December 21. Matches will be played for a duration of 70 minutes. Savannah Football is intended to support association clubs, thus no NSL or TT Pro League clubs have been invited to contest.
