TRENDSETTER HAWKS claimed the Under-10 crown while Crown Trace FC got the Under-12 prize at the Waterloo Institute of Soccer Players Under-10 and Under-12 One Day Football Fiesta at the Waterloo Secondary School on Saturday last.

Trendsetter needed kicks from the penalty spot to get past Cap Off Youths in the Under-10 final, after the scoreboard read 0-0 at the end of regulation time.

The Trendsetter team seems to have a knack of claiming titles at this event, as they copped the Under-9 and Under-11 age group crowns last year.

In Saturday’s semi-finals, Trendsetter blanked Ralph Coaching School 2-0 while Cap Off Youths had a similar result over W Connection.

Crown Trace FC, in the Under-12 final, got the better of Ralph Coaching School via a penalty shootout. It was the second straight win for Crown Trace from penalties, after they knocked out Gasparillo Youths by similar circumstances in the semi-final round (the game ended 1-1 at the end of full-time). The other semi-final saw Ralph Coaching School edge Trendsetter Hawks 1-0.

Luke Williams of Trendsetter took the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the Under-10 category while Melik Robinson was adjudged the MVP of the Under-12 section.
