Pro League clubs Ma Pau SC, St. Ann’s Rangers, DIRECTV North East Stars and Defence Force all advanced into the quarterfinal round of the 2010 FA Trophy with comfortable Round of 16 victories on Monday.

Current Digicel Pro League Championship leaders Defence Force were the biggest winners on Monday with a 7-1 win over Eastern Counties side Damarie Hill Re-United at the Larry Gomes Stadium.

Akil Pierre(41st and 53rd) and Albert Dexter Thornhill(49th and 55th) both registered doubles following Kurt Williams’ opener in the 30th minute.

Items by Marvin Jones(74th minute) and Ronald St. Louis(77th minute) added to Damarie’s miseries after only finding the net once through Kendel Notthinghill on the stroke of half-time.

Rangers, seated eight on the Pro League Championship table, enjoyed a handful against Valencia Lions Youth FC at the Hasely Crawford Stadium with captain Devon Modeste netting a double (8th and 51st minutes) while Kashif Thomas(65th minute), Elijah Belgrave(75th minute) and Josimar Belgrave(87th minute) added one item each.

Keston Campbell pulled one back for Valencia in the 89th minute, however the consolation item wasn’t enough to celebrate.

And in the early match of the day, 1st FC Santa Rosa were whipped 3-0 against Ma Pau SC with midfielder Elton John scoring a double (50th and 62nd minutes) following striker Trevin Caesar’s 41st minute opening item.

In the second clash of a double header at the Dwight Yorke Stadium North East Stars came from behind to beat home side Goal City 3-1 with second half goals after Akini Fergerson opened the scoring in the 36th minute.

Forward Gary Glasgow hit the target twice (53rd and 61st minutes) while midfielder Akeil Guevarra notched one in the 90th minute for the 3-1 victory.

The first clash of the double header saw another Tobago side booted from the competition when Joe Public Super League outfit struck late on two occasions with goals by Keston Henry(75th minute) and Dorion Robinson(83rd) for the 2-0 win.

Round of 16 action continues on Tuesday 30 November, 2010 at the La Brea Recreation Ground with La Brea All Stars hosting QPCC from 4pm.

And on Friday 10 December the Marvin Lee Stadium will host a Round of 16 double header with Caledonia AIA taking on Defence Force Super League outfit from 5pm and defending champs Bmobile Public against rivals San Juan Jabloteh from 7pm.
