GOLDEN Lane, Moriah Youths, 1976 FC Phoenix and Signal Hill United scored wins in the latest round of matches played in the A and B Conferences of the Digicel Tobago Football Association in Tobago last weekend as the battle for  promotion to the top flight got going.

On Sunday in the B Conference, Signal Hill United, who are in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, pipped Mason Hall PYC 2-1 on home soil in Signal Hill. Steffon Hector and Joseph Gaskin did the trick for the winners, while Derrick Frederick responded for the losers.

On the same day, Phoenix mauled Goodwood United 5-1 in the second game at Goodwood. Melvin Nero and Kenvern Marcelle grabbed braces, while Brent Cruickshank got the other item for Phoenix, who have been trying desperately to get back into the Premier Division since their demotion over five years ago.

In the first match, Youth Stars United and Lambeau United played to a 1-1 draw. Jesse Martineau netted for Youth Stars and Anson Campbell for Lambeau.

Moriah Youths worked over Bethel Uprising 2-0 in A Conference action on Saturday, with a goal each from Keishon Nelson and Kevin Henry at Canaan. Golden Lane thwarted NLCB Mt Grace United 2-0 in a Plymouth doubleheader. Goalscorers for the winners were Kyron Grant and Azel Taylor. And in the second game, FA Cup quarter-finalists, Black Rock were held to a 2-2 draw by Leeds United, the other team from the lower category that  made it  through to  the last eight of the FA Cup.
