Freshman forward Shane Lowery (Boonsboro, MD/Boonsboro) scored a pair of goals and assisted on two others to lead Shepherd University to a 5-0 win over Concord in WVIAC men’s soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday afternoon.

Senior forward Gregory Khan (Mt. Pleasant, Tobago/Bertille St. Clair), senior midfielder/forward Michael Sprague (Front Royal, VA/Warren County/ Lord Fairfax CC), and senior midfielder Patrick Norfolk (Olney, MD/Sherwood) each added single tallies for the Rams.

Senior midfielder/forward Jeffers Frazier (Prince Frederick, MD/Calvert) and freshman forward Josh Wise (Berkeley Springs, WV/Berkeley Springs) also recorded assists.

Shepherd had a 28-to-11 advantage in shots and a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.

Freshman Derek Munro (Williamsport, MD/Williamsport) had five saves in goal for the Rams, while Jamie Greenwood recorded nine saves for the Mountain Lions.

Shepherd improves to 5-6, 2-3 in WVIAC play, while Concord falls to 4-7, 1-5.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Davis and Elkins for a 3 p.m. contest.
