Gerard John-Williams scored just 15 seconds into today's game with Georgetown as the Panthers completed a perfect weekend at the NAIA Showcase with a 4-0 win over the Tigers.  Davenport has now won its last five games and brings back a 5-2-0 overall mark to Grand Rapids.

Davenport was looking to extend their winning streak to five games and it did not take long for them to get a leg up on the scoreboard vs. Georgetown as sophomore Gerard John-Williams (Arima, Trinidad & Tobago) scored just 15 seconds into the contest on a nice pass from freshman Ryan Duffy-McGirr (Chesterfield, England).

The Panthers quickly added to the lead in the 8th minute when freshman Jordan Richards (Northampton, England) scored on a touch pass from David Wood (Middlesborough, UK).  The scoring did not stop there however as DU put up one more in the first 45 minutes when Stuart Collins (Cork, Ireland) scored on a free kick to give Davenport a 3-0 lead heading into the locker room.

The windy and cool conditions did not stop Davenport from controlling the pace of play early on and the second half allowed DU to work on their ball control.  The work finally paid off in the 60th minute when David Wood (Middlesborough, UK) collected his first goal of the year on a pass from Jordan Richards (Northampton, England).

Kevin O'Brien (Cork, Ireland) was once again solid in net for Davenport finishing with his second consecutive shutout and third of the season.

Davenport will now host Robert Morris (Ill.) on Thursday at the Turf Field. The game will be broadcast live over the internet on the DAN and will also be featured on live stats and live chat.
