The League would like to regrettably inform that the Round Three Match Day Five fixture of the 2013/2014 Digicel Pro League between Central FC and Police FC, previously carded for 6 m at the Ato Boldon Stadium on Friday 28 March, will not play as scheduled.

This has become necessary due to emergency policing duties to be performed by members of Police FC, relative to today’s Parliament sitting.

“There are implications that there is going to be a massive protest at parliament today which requires a large Police presence, particularly from the Guard and Emergency Branch, which incidentally, the majority of players are attached,” said Police FC Technical Director/Head Coach Richard Hood.

“Additionally, some of our players attached to the Port of Spain Division are also detailed to perform relevant duties. Therefore, regrettably, we cannot field a team today.”

Hood expressed his regret, adding, “We prepared well for this game and were looking forward to the game. I can say that I am disappointed that we can’t play today, but this is the nature of the job.

“I’m certain that the players are disappointed as well. We enjoy playing against Central and the competition that they bring,” ended the Police sergeant, also attached to the Guard and Emergency Branch.

The match between leaders W Connection and Point Fortin Civic will be played as scheduled from 8 pm at the Ato Boldon Stadium, and on Saturday the defending champions Defence Force will meet North East Stars from 4 pm at the very same Couva venue.
