T&T Pro League chief executive, Dexter Skeene, says the League will consider rescheduling its fixtures to facilitate the April 25 and 27 President teams matches against Grenada.

Confirming that the Pro League had received a formal request last week, Skeene said the league will do what is in the best interest of the World Cup effort.

He said that the matches will give players in the league a final opportunity to address coach Leo Beenhakker and his staff and possibly force their way into the World Cup squad.

“As a former national player, I know it is important that you are given a fair chance to play for your country. Germany 2006 is a historic juncture in local football, and we have a duty and obligation to give all deserving players the opportunity to be part of history.

“In this context, I commend coach Beenhakker and the TTFF for showing, in a tangible way, an understanding of the importance of the World Cup for locally based players in the T&T Pro League.”

He said the Pro League remains steadfast in its commitment to the World Cup effort.
