Scarborough Secondary’s Cinderella run in this season’s FA Trophy could come to an end on Sunday in the quarter-final stage of the competition having been drawn to face former winners W Connection from 5pm at the Ato Boldon Stadium on Sunday.

The schoolboys surprisingly reached the quarter-final round by whipping 1976 Phonix (Tobago Zone) 3-1 in the second round and Caroni Samba 3-1 on kicks from the penalty mark following a goalless draw in the third round.

Meantime Connection crushed K.C. Perseverance 7-0 in the second round and edged Adam’s Construction San Juan Jabloteh 1-0 in the third round to reach the quarter-final stage.

“They(Scarborough Secondary) know of our history and will definitely be motivated coming up against us,” said W Connection assistant coach Earl Jean on Wednesday.

Jean promised that Connection will field a very strong team on Sunday and not take the “Secondary Schools Tobago Zone champs” lightly.

The former St. Lucian international added, “Our players know that Scarborough Secondary is very motivated also having reached this far in the tournament, so we are not going to play them as school boys. We will field a very strong team and go all out for the victory. It will be very interesting.”

In other draws on Tuesday, Caledonia AIA will host Joe Public (Super League) at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Defence Force against St. Francois Nationals at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium (venue to be confirmed) and WASA FC hosting O.J. Soldado at the WASA Ground in St. Joseph. (All matches kicking off from 5pm.)
