BICHE UNITED earned a 3-0 win, via default, over defending champions Providence as the Japs Fried Chicken North East Stars Champion of Champions competition continued on Thursday at the Manzanilla Recreation Ground.
But, in the other game of the evening’s double-header, Express Overcome forfeited their game against Malabar FC due to an alleged handle-ball incident, midway into the second half.
The game was tied at 3-3 when the referee failed to spot the infringement and, in protest, the Express players refused to continue the contest, leaving the officials with no other option but to award the game to Malabar’s favour.
