Boys Town made it two wins on the trot on Sunday to continue their revival in the 2014 edition of the Caribbean Welders Fishing Pond Football League.

The former champions have had to work hard for their results this season but have been gaining some momentum after their slow start.

Although on opposite sides of the table, they would have still been wary facing the struggling Spartan.

All concerns seemed to have been without merit though as Boys Town got the perfect start through Marcus Chandol who fired them in front in the first half. But as has been customary, Boys Town let their opponents back in the game and Shawn Samuel netted the equaliser soon after. Boys Town upped the tempo before the half, however, and were duly rewarded with a goal from Anderson Boatswain to pull ahead just before the whistle.

Chandol was on target again in the second period as Boys Town picked up the win to affirm their place in the top half of the table.

Also Sunday, Manzan United defeated Quash Trace 2-1 courtesy a double from Dakiel Ferreira. Keon Williams scored a consolation item for Quash Trace. The result puts Manzan United on 10 points in a congested mid-table.

On Saturday, Coca All Stars and Blu Magic battled to a goalless draw while Dream Team beat Xpress Overcome by default.

Also this week, North Oropouche picked up their third win of the season with a come-from-behind 2-1 result over Hill Toppers. Dave Persue put Hill Toppers in front but Sion Clarkson and Troy Augustus overturned the deficit to secure victory for North Oropouche.

Blu Magic were 3-0 winners over Valencia United in another match.

Action continues today with Cosmos vs Gremio at 3.45pm while G Madrid take on Hill Toppers tomorrow. On Thursday, Spartan do battle with Manan United.

On Saturday there is a big doubleheader featuring Xpress Overcome against G Madrid (2pm) and Boys Town against Take That and Cool It (3.45pm). On Sunday it’s Spartan vs Blu Magic (2pm) and Valencia United vs Fleming (4pm).
