The trio of Valencia United, AYM and North East Coast Youth Academy (NECYA) moved into the semifinal round of the Eastern Counties Football Union knockout competition on Sunday.
Kendell Nathaniel, Mickely Nicholas and Justin Alvarez as well as own goal accounted for AYM’s 4-1 thrashing of Guaico Tamana, and Shawkel Ragoo banged in a double to lead NECYA past Matura All Stars, 5-1. In the semifinals, Valencia will play the winner of the Biche United and North East Stars quarterfinal which had to be rescheduled while NECYA meets AYM.
In the Premier Division, Valencia United opened up a three-point lead at the top after whipping Manzanilla United 4-1 in their top-of-table clash of unbeaten teams.
For Valencia, Leon Durity scored two, and Enrique De Silva and Kurth Maloney the others in their sixth straight win from as many matches, while Manzanilla, which dropped its first points in six matches, got a lone item from Atiba Alexander.
Matura All Stars moved into third on ten points with a default win over Sangre Grande Dream Team, and North East Stars upset AYM, 3-2.
