A goal each from Nathaniel Burnette and Ronel Paul helped Pt Fortin Civic Centre to a come from behind win over bmobile Joe Public as play in the U-18 division of the National Youth Cup continued on Saturday.

Public broke the deadlock with a goal from Kyle Jackson in the 25th minute, 1-0, an advantage it held until the 78th minute.

The Civic Centre team drew level compliments of a Burnette strike, before Paul put the icing on the cake four minutes to full time. Despite the defeat Public remains in second position while Pt Fortin moves into fourth.

In Under-16 action, 1976 FC Phoenix led by a double from Dareon Moses, hammered Queen’s Park Cricket Club (QPCC) 5-0. Moses double came in the 37th and 53rd minutes, while Shaquille Joefield10th, Gem Gordon 38th, and Makeil Mc Kenzie 78th accounted for the other goals.

Phoenix hammer Parkites in National Youth League.

Darryl Trim scored a pair as 1976 FC Phoenix hammered Queen’s Park 4-1 in a Group “B” tussle, in the Under-18 Division, in the National Youth League Match Day Eight on Saturday.

Trim found the back of the net in the 30th and 76th minutes, while Christopher Morgan (50th) and Valder Perez (55th) contributed one each. Joshua Chang got the lone item for Queen’s Park in the 33rd.

In a Group “A” fixture, Point Fortin Civic Centre rallied from a goal down to defeat Joe Public 2-1.

Kyle Jackson put Joe Public in front after 25 minutes but Nathaniel Burnette equalised in the 78th and Ronel Paul got the match-winning strike in the 86th.

Two matches were contested in Group “B” of the Under-16 Division.

First-placed FC Santa Rosa battled to a 2-2 draw with Moruga, as Aaron Auguste (31st) and Dwayne Muckette (75th) were on target for Santa Rosa, while Anderson Toussaint (fifth) and Keil Ribeiro (54th) struck for Moruga.

But Phoenix had no such trouble, as they demolished Queen’s Park 5-0, courtesy of a double from Dareon Moses (37th and 53rd), while Shaquille Joefield (10th), Gem Gordon (38th) and Makeil McKenzie (78th) chipped in with one apiece.

Harvard maintained their advantage in the Under-14 Division with a 3-1 whipping of Joe Public.

Josh Toussaint got a quick double, in the 18th and 24th minutes, while Chad Olton widened the gap with a 44th minute strike. Taje Commissiong pulled one back in the 45th but Harvard held firm until the final whistle.

Second-placed Club Sando responded from an early deficit to trounce Phoenix 4-1.

Teejay Cadiz broke the deadlock in the 41st for Phoenix, but Club Sando fought back in convincing fashion, with Shemar Ravello netting a double (59th and 70th) while Akine Harry (49th) and J’Deem Parris (63rd) added one apiece.

In the other Under-14 contest, Queen’s Park cruised past Santa Rosa 3-1. Isaiah Williams (22nd), Sebastian Cabral (50th) and Kaelen Roach (62nd) got their names on the score-sheet for the Parkites while Kyle Ryan (45th) pulled one back for Santa Rosa.
