All three top-placed teams in the blink/bmobile National Super League, retained their respectively spots with easy 4-0 wins, as they continued to mount pressure among each other, when recheduled matches continued to play during the mid-week, on Wednesday.

League leader Club Sando, runner-up Malabar and Guaya United, which recently dropped into third place, secured wins by the same scoreline against Stokely Vale (fifth), 1976 FC Phoenix (fourth) and seventh-placed Westside Superstarz, respectivelty.

All three teams had four different players on taget, with Club Sando’s Teba McKnight adding to his hat-trick four days prior, with a lone effort, while Gorian Highley and Cyrnao Glen, both of Malabar FC also added to their goals on Sunday with one item each.

Meanwhile, Guaya United, which sits four points off the top of the standings, having played one fixture less than Club Sando and two less than Malabar FC, was on a bye on Sunday and welcomed the new year with a positive win.

Jody Allsop and Carlon Hughes, who have consistently found the back of the net this season, added to their tally, with a goal in the first and second half, respectively. Russell Alfred scored two minutes into Guaya’s win, before Kheelon Mitchell scored the other goal in the 38th minute.
 
This Sunday, the top three teams will be back in action, as Club Sando takes the trip to Tobago to face Phoenix, at Canaan, Bon Accord, while Guaya hosts Defence Force in Guayaguayare. Malabar FC, meanwhile, will take on Westside Superstarz at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima.

All matches will kick off at 4 pm, apart from Siparia Spurs’ clash with Joe Public, which is scheduled to commence at 5.30 pm, at the Palo Seco Velodrome. Tobago’s Stokely Vale is on a bye.
