DEFENCE FOR CE and WASA FC earned 2-0 away wins to Real Maracas and Police respectively on Thursday, in a pair of respective Premiership Division Match Day 16 fixtures in the CNG National Super League.

At the Maracas Recreation Ground in St Joseph, Defence Force triumphed courtesy of goals from Arkido Joseph in the 75th minute and Josimar Belgrave in the 85th. 

Keron Clarke found the back of the net, in the 13th and 69th minutes, as WASA blanked Police at the Police Barracks in St James. 

Also on Thursday, 1976 FC Phoenix progressed to the semi-final round of the Knockout Competition after eliminating Siparia Spurs 3-1 at the Canaan Recreation Ground. 

Darryl Trim netted a pair for Phoenix (76th and 90th) while Stefano Wright (16th) got the other, with Chris Collins (90th) scoring for Siparia. 

The Knockout semi-finals will be contested tomorrow (SUNDAY) at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, with Phoenix meeting Guaya United at 4.30 pm and Prisons FC opposing Petrotrin Palo Seco at 7 pm.
