Four different players were on target as bmobile Joe Public copped the $120,00 bmobile National Super League title with a 4-0 win over Alcoa Carenage United at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya yesterday.

Less than 24 hours after its Pro League team had dethroned Clico San Juan Jabloteh as Digicel Pro League champions, the “Eastern Lions” Super League outfit captured the vacant title as closest challenger, T&TEC suffered a 3-2 setback against St Francois Nationals at the Youth Camp Ground, Chaguaramas.

At Macoya, Ricardo Bennett made it 1-0 as early as the fourth minute while Donovan Derrick added a second, a minute before the interval. Dorian Daniel extended the lead to 3-0 in the 87th minute while Kevon Piper sealed victory two minutes later.

With the win, Joe Public completed its schedule with 54 points, six more than debutants T&TEC which has one match left to play. At Chaguaramas, St Francois stunned the “Electricity Boys” when Wendell Douglas fired in a fourth minute opener.

However, T&TEC responded in style with a double from Jamal Ayres, in the 18th and 27th minute for a 2-1 lead at the half. Keron Edwards then scored in the 58th and 65th minutes for St Francois to lead 3-1 which it held until the final whistle.
