Sterling O’Brien scored in the dying seconds to give Defence Force their first win, a 2-1 victory against St Francois Nationals in the 2011 blink/ bmobile National Super Football League at the Hasely Crawford Stadium Training Field, Mucurapo, yesterday.

In a match where both teams were desperate to take three points, Defence Force drew first blood within a half hour of the start with a strike from Kevon Piper. However, the effort was canceled out with two minutes left in the half when Lorne Joseph responded for St Francois.

Both teams were seemingly unable to find another breakthrough and would be heading to yet another draw until  late into the match when O’Brien stole all three points for the travelling Defence Force.

With the win, Defence Force go joint forth with bmobile Joe Public FC, at least until Match Day Six concludes tomorrow evening. Three matches will be begin at 4 pm tomorrow before WASA FC challenges Joe Public in the 5 pm, late encounter.

Eagles United will battle Real Maracas at Woodford Lodge, Chaguanas while West Side Super Starzs will take on 1976 FC Phoenix at the Hasely Crawford Stadium Training Field in the 4 pm fixtures. Tobago’s Stokely Vale will host Club Sando at the Plymouth Recreation Ground, Plymouth, also at the same time.
