PRESENTATION San Fernando finished their campaign in the BGTT/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Championship Division South Zone with a 100-percent record when they spanked Pleasantville 4-0 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella yesterday.
Presentation have defeated all and sundry in their 12 matches this season and will be gearing for tougher challenges in the SSFL Big Five competition, which kicks off on Monday.
Dethroned South Zone champs Shiva Boys were held to a 1-1 away draw to St Benedict’s at La Romain while Princes Town crushed Moruga 6-1.
Arima also completed an unbeaten run in the East Zone when they swept past 2011 winners El Dorado East 4-1. Neveal Hackshaw (10th minute), Shilo Johnson (27th), Kion Joseph (70th) and Kern Roberts (82nd) were the goalscorers for Arima while El Dorado East were rewarded by an item from Mikal Primus (23th).
Trinity East got a pair from Marcel Springer (30th and 33rd) and one apiece from Shaquille Antoine (47th) and Nathan Regis (73rd) as they blanked Toco 4-2 at Trincity while El Dorado West got a strike from Kurdell Chairman as they edged the visiting San Juan 1-0.
Carapichaima retained their Central Zone on Tuesday after the SSFL Disciplinary Committee awarded them three points after overruling a 2-1 loss away to Chaguanas North on September 29. With the result, Carapichaima had an unassailable four-point lead over Chaguanas, entering yesterday’s final day of action.
The 2012 champs pipped hosts Couva 2-1 while Chaguanas trounced hosts Tabaquite 6-2. Presentation Chaguanas earned a 3-0 default victory over Gasparillo and, according to an SSFL official, Gasparillo were unable to field a team due to disciplinary reasons (in their school).
With North Zone winners St Anthony’s on a bye, Mucurapo finished second in the group, despite a 1-0 loss away to lowly Diego Martin.
Third-placed Fatima took care of cellar-placed Trinity 3-1 at the Fatima Ground, Mucurapo while QRC and St Mary’s played to a 1-1 draw at the QRC Ground, St Clair.
The Tobago Zone is yet to be decided, but Signal Hill pipped the visiting Roxborough 2-1 while 2011 winners Scarborough were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Mason Hall.
Presentation, Arima, Carapichaima and St Anthony’s will be turning their attention towards the Big Five tournament.
James keeps Mason Hall alive.

Akini James’ 89th minute close range effort kept title hopeful Mason Hall alive, while denting reigning champion Scarborough’s chances as the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in the Tobago Zone of the BGTT/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League, yesterday.
The all-important goal put Mason Hall on ten points with two matches remaining, and five points less than Scarborough, which has just one remaining. The champions’ objective was to win the match outright and secure another crown. However, it was Mason Hall, led by captain Brandon Joseph which started the brighter of the two teams.
Scarborough eventually got going with right-winger Khislon Morgan and striker Michael Gordon attacking Mason Hall’s goal. Gordon was rewarded in the 20th minute as he outpaced Mason Hall’s defence and scored a simple tap in.
Hakeem Legalle missed several attempts to equalise and Mason Hall eventually found the back of the net in the last minute of regulation time in a goalmouth scramble as James got his foot to the ball.
Mason Hall will take on Scarborough in a rescheduled match and a potential title decider on Saturday. A win for Mason Hall will see it trail Scarborough by two points, before Mason Hall faces Roxborough in its final league match on Tuesday.
With all zonal champions already decided, the divisions played out their final rounds of matches, with only South and Tobago zones having a rescheduled match to complete. Down South, Presentation College continued to impress as it completed the league campaign with another victory, making it 12 wins in as many matches.
The team’s leading scorer Shackiel Henry scored yet again. Civaughn Dimsoy bagged a double while Kegan Ellis was the other player on target. All relegated teams have also been determined with the exception of the North Zone.
Trinity College faces relegation after falling to Fatima College 3-1. Diego Martin North Secondary had to pull off the upset of the round and did just that with a 1-0 victory over East Mucurapo. Stephon Billingy got the goal for Diego Martin, which may well have been the most important of his career thus far.
Diego North upset 'Compre'

Diego Martin North Secondary produced an upset when they edged East Mucurapo Secondary 1-0 yesterday in the final round of the BG T&T/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) North Zone league competition.
Stephan Billingy fired home the only goal in the match to hand his school just their second victory in the North Zone in their debut season.
In the other North Zone matches, Fatima College defeated Trinity College 3-1 at home, while QRC could not make home advantage count and had to settle for a 1-1 scoreline against St Mary's College in their "Old Firm" clash.
In the East, Trinity trumped Toco Secondary 4-2 at home, while Arima North thumped El Dorado East 4-1. El Dorado West narrowly got the better of San Juan North with a 1-0 upset result.
Down South, Princes Town Secondary destroyed Moruga Secondary 6-1, St Benedict's College and Shiva Boys played to a 1-1 draw, and Presentation College shut out Pleasantville 4-0.
In the Central Zone, Carapichaima East topped Couva West 2-1, while Chaguanas North increased their goal advantage with a 6-2 win over Tabaquite.
And across in Tobago, Signal Hill Secondary edged out Roxborough 2-1 while Scarbarough and Mason Hall Secondary could not be separated after regulation time, the game ending 1-1.
