North Zone champions St Anthony's College start their quest for the BG T&T/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Big 5 title, today, when they face Central Zone winners Carapichaima East in a replay of last year's final.

The two sides will meet at Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva from four p.m.

St Anthony's, who won the North Zone title with a 0-0 draw at home to Fatima College to finish the season with seven wins and five draws, defeated Caps 1-0 in last year's final, and will be looking to get past the Central Zone team again this year.

Carapichaima East lost two matches in capturing the Central Zone crown, but one result–their 2-1 loss to Chaguanas North Secondary–was reversed following a disciplinary hearing, giving "Caps" the title.

Carapichaima manager Steve Gopeesingh said his players are confident, despite not having leading scorer Shaquille Holder who is on national duty with the Trinidad and Tobago Under-20s.

"We trying to work as a team and work on the mental side of things because I think that has been our problem over the years," said Gopeesingh.

He noted that Holder accounted for 28 of the 69 goals Caps scored in the Central Zone competition, and said that although Holder was their leading scorer, the other players also scored a lot of goals which is one of the positives for his team heading into today's encounter.
