Fatima College became the first North Zone Premier Division casualty of the 2014 Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Coca Cola InterCol series when they were upset 3-1 by Trinity College at Fatima Grounds, Mucurapo Road yesterday.

St Mary’s College were also in action yesterday, and they managed a 7-0 win over Malick Secondary to keep their InterCol ambitions alive at their St Mary’s Serpentine Road, St Clair base.

Rickel Dickson and Aaron Skeene both doubled up for St Mary’s, while Justin Brooks, Ethan Shim and Nathan Hart all registered on the score sheets.

Fatima have not been consistent this season in the Premier Division, and failed to get out of the blocks in their favoured tournament this time around.

It means that at least one Championship Division side will play in the North semi-finals, with Trinity set to face St Mary’s in one semi-final four encounter, while St Anthony’s College will face East Mucurapo for a place in the final.

Yesterday’s Central Zone quarter-finals, slated for Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, were postponed due to issues with the venue.

Instead, Chaguanas North will now play Preysal Secondary today at Hugo Francis Ground, Chaguanas, from 3.30 p.m., the same time ASJA Boys tackle Miracle Ministries at Carapichaima East.

In Girls East Zone semi-final action, St Augustine Girls and Bishop’s East High School scored emphatic 4-0 and 4-1 victories over St George’s College and Five Rivers Secondary respectively.
