National Big Five champions St Augustine Senior Secondary will be trying to move one step closer to attaining the East Zone double when they confront El Dorado Senior Secondary in their RBTT Intercol zonal semi-final, at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, Arima, this afternoon from five p.m.
The Green Machine will be fully confident when they face the Blue Thunder of El Dorado, having been the only unbeaten secondary schools team to date this season.
But Eldo will have other ideas. Having had a bad start to their SSFL campaign, and after just eluding relegation trouble, they blasted their way to a 6-0 triumph over defending zonal champs Arima Senior Comprehensive last week.
Although St Augustine are expected to be favourites, the Eldo challenge will be more testing than their quarter-final against Valencia High School, which they won 5-0.
In the earlier semi-final match of today's double-header, San Juan Senior Secondary take on Hillview College for the other spot in the East Zone Intercol final.
San Juan had an easy time in getting past Barataria Senior Comprehensive 3-1, while, contrastingly, Hillview needed penalties to separate themselves from St George's College.
The Central Zone will also see Intercol action today, as League champs Presentation College take on Tabaquite Composite, who are coming off a 2-0 win over Chaguanas Senior Comprehensive, last Wednesday.
The teams meet at three p.m., at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, before Marabella Junior test the resolve of Carapichaima Senior Secondary from five p.m., at the same ground.
