East Mucurapo slammed three goals past Malick to seal an emphatic 3- 0 win in the opening game of the Coca-Cola Intercol North Zonal quarter-finals at the QRC grounds, St Clair, yesterday.

Jabari Thomas took advantage of a weak defending Malick and netted twice in the 18th and again in the 85th for the East Mucurapo squad. Kevin Lewis got the other goal in the 35th minute.

In the other quarter-final game, Fatima had a narrow 2-1 victory over Trinity at St Anthony’s grounds, West-moorings.

Jamil Young opened the scoring for Fatima in the 36th minute and they held on to this lead until half time.

Kyle West slotted home the second Fatima goal in the 69th minute, and Jamaal Neptune pulled one back for Trinity in the 81st, converting a penalty, but they could not find an equaliser.

Fatima will now play East Mucurapo in a Zonal semi-final on November 16 at their home ground at Mucurapo Road.

In Tobago Zonal quarter-finals on Monday, Speyside beat the other Intercol newcomers, Pentecostal Light and Life 3-0.

Mason Hall whipped Senior Division winners Rox-borough 5-3 to advance to the “semis”.

Mason Hall will now face defending Zonal Intercol champions Signal Hill, while Speyside play Scarborough.

Both games will be contested at the Dwight Yorke Stadium on November 12.

In the South Zone, Naparima will meet arch-rivals Presentation in a semi- final match at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, on Monday from 3 pm.

Naps shut out St Benedict’s 4-0 and Pres clobbered Vessigny 11-0 in their quarter-finals on Monday last.
