1976 FC PHOENIX had to battle all the way to subdue a resilient Black Rock 2-1 to stay one point ahead of Youth Stars in the A Conference of the Tobago Football League.

Selvon Turner and Akim Boynes scored one goal each to keep Phoenix the lead. Michael Carrington got the consolation for the Black Rock men. But Hope Village Milan got three points the easy way when lowly Signal Hill United defaulted their game on Thursday to lead the B Conference.

A Conference bottom clubs Mason Hall Police Youth Club and Moriah Youths played to a 1-1 draw. Adrian Holder netted for Youth club while Curlys Bennett got the goal for Moriah. And Mason Hall USSS kept the leaders in their sights with an exciting 3-3 draw with NLCB Mt Grace. Lex Bovell, Dwight Hayling and Martin Lindow got goals for Mason Hall while Allister Williams, Desron Clarke and Kester Thomas hit back for Mt Grace.
