Stokely Vale are the new Digicel Tobago Football Association champions. They routed Earlbrokes 4-0 on home soil, in Plymouth, on Wednesday to reclaim the trophy they lost to Georgia United in 2008.

Earlier in the season, Stokely Vale triumphed in the FA Cup. The Plymouth-based team are now the holders of the three major titles in Tobago as they are the current Community Shield champions.

The ’Vale’ will have that trophy in their possession for another season since the Community Shield was not contested in 2009.

On Wednesday, Darron Williams netted a brace for Stokely Vale, while the other goals were scored by Dominic Mc Dougall and Tyrone Manning.

With one game still to be played, the new champs have an unassailable 47 points.

Former champions St Clair Coaching School narrowly edged eighth-placed Hill United 4-3 in the feature match-up at Dwight Yorke Stadium, in Bacolet, but will have to settle for the runners-up spot in the league.

Keon Samuel hit the target twice, while there were goals for Carron Williams and Kirsten Benjamin in Coaching School’s fourteenth victory of the season.

Eustace Stewart, Kandel Joefield and Julien James scored for Hill United, who have 25 points and two games remaining.

In the opening fixture at Plymouth, Sidey’s FC moved up one place on the standings, to sixth, with a similar 4-3 triumph over demotion-bound Bethel United, who have completed their 22-game schedule with 20 points.

And in the opening game at Dwight Yorke Stadium, Retreats Castara Goal City stopped Mason Hall USSS 3-1.

Doing the business for Goal City were Akini Ferguson, Kerlon Ferguson and Makesi Jackson, while Akeil Dennis responded for Mason Hall USSS.
