Defender Joel Alleyne netted the winning goal as Phoenix put themselves into promotion contention on 33 points from sixteen matches and can mathematically amass more points than all three teams ahead of them on the standings.

Phoenix also got the better of NLCB Mt. Grace United 3-2 in a nail-biting affair as the losers battled back from a 3-0 deficit to almost snatch a draw. Eugene Mitchell, Dernel Mc Knight and Chevone Alleyne netted for Phoenix while Shaquille Gill and Neeshun Roberts scored for Mt Grace.

Second place, Carnbee-Mt Pleasant FC on 37 pts won a key encounter against Calder Hall FC on 35 points, blanking them 3-0 on the same day. Goals from Keno Trim, Domonique Roberts and David Gill enabled CMP to remain four points behind leaders, Lambeau. Hayden Phillips was on target for CMP in their 1-0 victory over Golden Lane FC in their other match played.

Bethel United on 32 points scored two big victories in their two matches played last week.

First they got the better of Signal Hill United 5-2 with two goals apiece from Downie Marcelle and Joel Moore and one from Dennieson Roachford. Huey Khan and Esron Hinds found the net for Signal Hill. Then they stumped all over Moriah Youths 7-0 in a one-sided affair. Goal scorers were Downie Marcelle (2), Renaldo John (2), Devon Edwards, Julien James and Anton Simon.

Results of other matches show Mason Hall P.Y.C. defaulting against Goodwood United and Calder Hall FC handed Moriah their second defeat at 3-1. Juma George netted a double while Joel Harry got the other goal.
