Trinidad and Tobago’s Under 17 Women’s Team rallied from a goal down to score two second half goals and secure a 2-2 draw with Grenada and subsequently top the four-nation group following the last set of matches in the Concacaf Caribbean opening round of Under 17 Women’s World Cup qualifying at Ato Boldon Stadium on Sunday.

T&T faced their stiffest test of the round after easily displacing US Virgin Islands (13-0) and Curacao 7-0 in their previous matches.

Trailing Grenada 1-0 at half-time, on the back of a Sheranda Charles’ 45th-minute item,  T&T came out in the second half determined to reverse the scoreline.

US-based captain Kara Trotman held bundle the ball over the goal line in the 75th and Marie-Frances Serrant put T&T 2-1 ahead in the 87th before Grenadian captain Judy McIntosh (902) equalised from the penalty spot.

T&T will now look ahead to the Caribbean Final Round in Haiti from October 22nd where they will face off against Jamaica, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Bermuda and Haiti. The top three teams will advance to the Concacaf Final round toward the 2018 FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay.
