Exactly one week after dropping its first points of the season against KC Perseverance United in a 1- 1 draw, Harlem Strikers was held to it second draw in three matches, this time by KC Perseverance Ball Runners, 0-0 when matches in the CRILLE Central Football Association Premier Division continued.
Despite the goalless draw at the Hugo Francis Recreation Ground, last Tuesday, Strikers still lead with 23 points from nine matches, seven clear of Cunupia.
Cunupia had a 2-1 win over Perseverance United with goals from Akel James (17th) and Gorean Highley (42nd) cancelling out Teba Mc Knight’s 37th item for the latter.
In addition, Cunupia also picked up three points in the protest room when the disciplinary committee awarded it a 3-0 win over Leeds United for their August 4 encounter which was not completed. Enterprise Youths climbed to third spot on 18 points with a match in hand after a similar 2-1 triumph over Cap Off Youths.
Shae Bethel had given Cap Off Youths a thirdminute lead only for David Mandeville (60th) and Daymean Rostant (85th) to hit back with second-half items for Enterprise to pick up all three points.
Today, the quarterfinal round of matches in the Chaguanas Borough Hugo Francis Memorial Cup will kick off with two matches at the Hugo Recreational Ground from 5pm.
