Pt Fortin Civic Centre made a giant step towards securing its third title for the year in the Southern Football Association when it blanked Marabella Family CC 2-0 in their League Cup semifinal first leg at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, on Saturday night.
Steven Joseph and Andre Alexis got a goal each for the Pt Fortin unit ahead of their second-leg meeting to be played at the Mahaica Oval, Pt Fortin, at a date to be announced.
On the other side of the League Cup draw, T&TEC, the Premier Division Petrotrin Super League runners-up clobbered newly promoted University of T&T 7-3 in their first-leg semifinal at Penal while the second leg takes place next Wednesday at Tarouba Link Road.
So far this season, Pt Fortin has won both the Petrotrin Super League $15,000 Premier Division crown and the Executive Cup.
