MACHEL JAMES registered a hat-trick as leaders Eagles United crushed Leeds FC 6-0, in the Hugo Francis Group, as the Central Football Association (CFA) 2013 League season continued last weekend.
The match was one of three, in the group, which was held at the Hugo Francis Recreation Ground.
James found the back of the net in the 23rd, 26th and 79th minutes, while Eagles got a goal apiece from Jamal Antoine (72nd), Akil Nichols (74th) and Seion Regis (85th).
Second-placed Cunupia FC were also in winners’ row, as they swept past Perseverance Ball Runners 3-0. Dillon Charles (20th), Anthony Guppy (29th) and Akel James (76th) were the goal-getters for Cunupia FC.
And Flamengo FC remained win-less in the group after they were trounced 5- 1 by Caroni Tabaquite.
Jesus Copeland got a treble (16th, 26th and 27th) with Casimir Dino (fourth) and Shawn Outer (52nd) chipping in with one apiece for Tabaquite. Shae Bethel (11th) scored for Flamengo.
There was an upset in the Henry Franklin Group as table-toppers Coosals’ Las Lomas United fell to a 2-1 defeat to Xtra Foods Chaguanas FC at the New Settlement Ground.
Steven Lewis put Las Lomas in front after 18 minutes but Chaguanas replied with the equaliser, courtesy of an own goal, in the 27th, and the winner from Deon O’Garro in the 90th.
In the meeting of cellar-placed outfits, Fire Services cruised past Cap Off Youths 3-1 at the Hugo Francis Ground.
Joel Trim (23rd), Jerome Trim (76th) and Hasani Taylor (80th) were on target for Fire Services, with Akeel Alfred (25th) responding for Cap Off Youths.
And, at the Edinburgh 500 Ground, hosts Edinburgh 500 were held to a goalless draw by Enterprise Youths FC.
