Petit Valley United put the icing on the cake with its thumping 7-2 victory over Queen’s Park in the final round of matches in the Media 21 Northern Football Association (NFA) Big Four competition at Aranjuez Savannah, on Sunday.

Despite having won the competition outright a week ago with a match to spare, Petit Valley made the most of its last competitive fixture until the Champions of Champions Super League qualifiers, which kicks off in March.

Attacker Chijioke Edwards (9th, 11th, 53rd) displayed a man-of-the-match performance after scoring a hat-trick, while Alan Pope (38th, 48th) scored a double. Keno Goodridge (17th) and Jamol Piango (88th) got the other goals in either half of the encounter. QPCC got its goals from veteran Kamu Laird and Jason Charles in the 20th and 29th minutes, respectively.

However, with five minutes left in the first half, with QPCC trailing 4-2, Charles was ejected from play for improper conduct, giving his team an even more tedious task at a comeback. Valley went on to score three more goals in the second half for a comfortable victory.

Petit Valley had an impressive end to its Northern Football Association 2011/2012 campaign, finishing the Big Four competition without losing a match. QPCC started the competition well, with two consecutive 3-0 wins, but dropped to consecutive losses, in the following two matches.

The “Parkites” drew its second-to-last fixture, ruling out any chance of a comeback to the top. St Ann's Rangers and RSSR, were out of the competition several match days ago. The two teams, however, played their final match on Sunday at New Ground, Queen’s Park Savannah, with Rangers emerging 2-1 winners.

Dillon Anderson scored RSSR’s only goal in the 34th minute, but Ricky Morris and Seon Cole responded in the 45th and 60th minutes to give Rangers the win. Petit Valley United joins St Clair’s Coaching School (Tobago), Siparia Spurs (South), Biche United (Eastern Counties) and Harlem Strikers (Central) in the Champions of Champions competition.
