Dream Team ripped apart Spartan 4-1 on Saturday to continue their fine start in the Caribbean Welders Fishing Pond Football League at the Fishing Pond Recreation Ground.

The defending champions moved three points clear at the summit to stay on course for the top seed ahead of the “Big 8”.

Despite being the most in-form team, Dream Team found themselves trailing through a strike from Matthew David. But Zavion Navarro drew Dream Team level before the break with a fine effort to make it 1-1.

Spartan saw all their good work in the first-half go to waste, though, as goals from Navarro, Jameel Sempel and Rion Moore turned things around in the second period.

Also Saturday, Gremio FC whipped Fleming 3-0 to stay among the elite in the standings. Lindon Dickson was the star of the show with a sublime hat-trick.

Meanwhile on Sunday, Blu Magic snatched a last gasp victory against Quash Trace that pushed them into fourth spot. After a goalless first-half and an equally combative second period, both teams looked headed for a point each. But Blu Magic won a corner at the death and a rising Kareem Lewis got good connection on a header that flew into the back of the net to stun Quash Trace and their supporters.

Xpress Overcome have recovered from their two-game penalty by picking up two wins from as many matches to move into the top half of the table. A 1-0 win over Blu Magic was followed up by a 2-0 result against North Oropouche with goals from Micha and Sean Marshall.

In other results, Coca All-Stars whipped Valencia United 3-0; Dream Team defeated Valencia United 4-1; Manzan United slammed Hill Toppers 3-0; Blu Magic beat Santos 2-0; Dream team thumped North Oropouche 5-0; Quash Trace tied Gremio 1-1; G Madrid and Coca drew 1-1.
