The suspended “Big 8” match between Blu Magic and Take That and Cool It in the Caribbean Welders Fishing Pond Football League will continue today with 35 minutes still to play. The quarterfinal match kicks off at 3.15pm.
On Sunday, the referee was forced to blow off their match after a fracas erupted on the field after two players were shown straight red cards.
One semifinal has already been decided with Gremio FC coming up against Coca All-Stars on Saturday at 2.45pm while G Madrid await the winner of today’s match on Sunday at the same time.
Gremio will be fancying their chances after upsetting 2013 champions Dream Team 3-1 while Coca All-Stars got past another former champions Boys Town 2-1.
The first prize for the tournament is $40,000 while the losing finalist receives $8,000.
The third-placed team gets $5,000 while the fourth-place finisher walks way with $4,000.
