Keon Samuel netted a pair of goals as newly crowned Tobago Football Association Premier Division champions, St Clair Coaching School whipped Eagles United in their T&T Football Federation b-mobile National Super League Qualifying Competition opener yesterday.
Dareem Moore also netted for St Clair Coaching School while Moriba Jacob of Eagles conceded an own goal before veteran Bernard Mc Call got a consolation item for the visitors, the Central Football Association at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet.
With the win, Coaching School climbed to the top of the six-team round-robin table on goal-difference from West Side Stars (Northern Football Association) and Eastern Counties Football Union winners Matura Reunited.
Stars used a double from Kareem “Scoobie” Freitas to blank visiting Siparia Spurs, the Southern champions at Paragon Ground, Queen’s Park Savannah.
And in the day’s other match, Matura Reunited gave their lively home supporters something to cheer about when they came from a goal down to slip past Eastern Football Association champions, Real Maracas, 2-1 at Matura Recreation Ground. Brian Hinds silenced the home crowd when he fired Real Maracas in the tenth minute which it held until the interval.
Two minutes after the restart, Keish Charles drew Matura level before Cuffie Hector got the decisive item in the 74th minute. Matches continue on Tuesday all from 3.30 pm. At the end of match-day five, the top two teams will advance to this year’s b-mobile National Super League.
