NORTHSIDE Combined will join Mason Hall USSS in the 2009 Premier Division of the Tobago Football Association after they finished in second place in the Big Seven competition last Friday.

Northside clinched the final spot on goal difference over Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix, who were seeking to get back into the top flight after they were demoted to the lower category three years ago.

Northside, who scored 14 goals in the competition, enjoyed a six-plus goal supremacy over Phoenix's five-plus (13 goals).

Mason Hall USSS and Northside will replace Premier Division sides Classic Tours Goodwood (12th place) and Dominion SS Golden Lane United (11th place) in the top flight next season. Both clubs were promoted in 2007.

In recent games bringing the curtain down on the 2008 TFA season, Daniel Harry and Alvin King completed the campaign with braces to spearhead Northside to a commanding 4-0 success over NLCB Mt Grace as they prepare for life in the top bracket.

The game was played at the Dwight Yorke Stadium (DYS) in Bacolet.

In the second contest of the double-header, Phoenix got the better of Moriah Youths 2-0 but it was insufficient for them to topple Northside. Ashley McMillan and Hayden Moses netted for the winners.

Mason Hall USSS ended their stint in the lower division on a losing note when they were beaten 4-2 by Black Rock United on the training ground outside of the DYS.

Selvin Duncan bagged a hat-trick, while Allan Douglas got the other item for Black Rock, who failed to produce the goods when it mattered most in the Big Seven after dominating at the group stage.

Duane Donald and Jerron Balfour replied for Mason Hall USSS.
