76 goals in 15 games as YPL kicks off with a bang, Connection and Jabloteh grab double figures against debuting Club Sando and Police respectively in U-13s
San Juan Jabloteh recorded a perfect start to their Youth Pro League 2015 campaign by defeating Police FC at the Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 levels in Round One Match Day One on Sunday.
JERRY MORRIS scored the only goal as BLAST edged Trendsetter Hawks 1-0 to win the Under-12 final of the 2014 Republic Bank National Youth Football League, which took place last Saturday at ‘Casual’s Corner’ in the Queen’s Park Savannah. The tournament saw over 60 teams from across Trinidad and Tobago, playing eleven-a-side football.
Debutants Club Sando are one of ten clubs that will take to the field on Sunday 15 March in the divisions of Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 when the 2015 Youth Pro League kicks off.
TRENDSETTER HAWKS took the Under-10 Division, Blast claimed the Under-12 category and Point Fortin Civic Centre captured the Under-14 section as the Republic Bank National Youth Football League ended at the Casuals Corner, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port- of-Spain on Saturday.
THE REPUBLIC Bank-sponsored Republic Cup National Youth Football League held its prize-giving ceremony on Saturday at its Head Office, Park Street, Port-of-Spain.
Following easy victories in last weekend’s first knockout round East Zone standout Jabloteh FC will challenge two semifinals, one in the Under-12 division and in the U-14 division of the Republic Bank National Youth League, when the competition comes to a close at Casual Corner, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain, tomorrow from 9.30 am.
Point Fortin Civic, which played unbeaten through the Central Zone, went all the way on Saturday to cop the Under-14 title in the Republic Bank National Youth League, after edging Jabloteh on penalty kicks following a 1-1 draw in the final.
Joshua Ragbir scored a hat-trick, while Terrel Wiley and Jerry Morris scored two goals apiece as Blast scored a huge 8-0 win over Acono Football Academy in one of four Republic Youth League Under-12 quarterfinals played last weekend.
